Hello! My name is Rakesh, and I am one of the general dentist’s fortunate enough to work at Sherwood Dental. I graduated from the University of Alberta dental program in the year 2000, and have been at Sherwood Dental for about 15 years. When I began working here I was mentoring under Dr Andrew Ference who was a staple in the community for decades.
There are a lot of great things about working at Sherwood Dental. I really enjoy meeting so many different types of people, and finding out everyone really isn’t so different after all. The team we have is super fun and we try to keep things light around the office. We do a lot of volunteer activities as a group and have some fun along the way with golf tournaments, potlucks, and other team-building activities.
I have been married to my wife Monica for exactly 20 years now. We have three kids, two older boys, and the youngest is a girl (princess). When I’m not working I’m spending most of my time with them; either driving them to their activities or partaking in activities with them. They keep us very busy, work is actually a break. We enjoy golfing, playing tennis and watching movies together. When I’m not with them, I do like to sneak out for the odd golf trip to recalibrate.
More About Me:
- Where is your favourite place to vacation?
My favourite place to travel has always been the California coast. I love the ocean and the relaxed vibes that come along with it. It’s also easy to sneak out to a basketball or football game to change things up.
- What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?
I love to golf. I love being outside. It’s a great way to spend time in nature and hang out with friends and/or family. My two older boys are now really getting into it, so it’s been great quality time with them.
- What is the last book you read?
A Man Called Ove. I just started taking reading up again and this book was a great start. It’s heartfelt and teaches you what’s important in life.
